EcoAir DC202 Dehumidifier Overview

With the EcoAir DC202, you don’t need a separate dehumidifier and air purifier; this machine puts the two into one convenient piece of equipment to make your life easier.  Ideal for allergy sufferers, this unit effectively cleans the air through two different types of filters.  You can operate it as the dehumidifier and air purifier at the same time, or run it just as a purification system.  Keep the impurities, house mites, allergens and even odours away from your home with this unit.

Filtration Systems

While most units feature one filter, this machine offers two filtration systems. The 3-in-1 Filtration Filter is made with two charcoal filters and is anti-allergic and also deodorising.  You won’t want to clean this filter; simply replace it every 3-6 months.

The second filter is a silver nano which effectively kills bacteria as soon as it makes contact.  Do not wash this filter, just vacuum every 2-4 weeks for optimal performance.  Use your electronic ionizer in conjunction with this filter to release negative ions into your air.  They will attach themselves to the dust, pollen, dirt and mould spores in your air and fall to the ground or into your dehumidifier, making for easy cleanup.  This will make a huge difference in your asthma and allergy symptoms.

Water Tank and Drainage

With the 4L water tank, you are achieving capacities twice as large as most household dehumidifiers.  In fact, the EcoAir Dehumidifier D122 only features a 2L tank.  Look through the plastic window located at the front of your unit to monitor the levels of water.  If you do not empty before the machine is full, it will automatically shut itself off.

When you are ready to empty, simply pull the tank out of the back with the convenient hand grip and dump the contents into a nearby sink.  If you prefer to use the continuous drainage option, you will want to remove the little area in the back of the machine with a screwdriver.  Attach a 12mm garden hose into a sink or drain so the machine can continuously empty.  Keep in mind that this is a gravity

led unit, so for best results you’ll need to place your EcoAir DC202 above your drainage site.

Navigating the EcoAir DC202 Dehumidifier Control Panel

As expected, a machine of this caliber is going to have an extensive control panel with many options.  Don’t let this overwhelm you; once you get the hang of it, you’ll be operating your machine with ease.  When looking at your unit from top to bottom, you should encounter these options:

Timer

You can set your timer to run in 2, 4, 8, or 12-hour time periods.  If you don’t select a time, it will run continuously in dehumidify mode.

Dry Mode

This function will set your target humidity with 3 settings; either low, medium, or high.

Swing

This sets your adjustable louvre to wide, front, or up.  This range provides an exceptional choice in air flow perfect for completing even the toughest tasks such as drying laundry, wet floors after cleaning or wet paint on walls.

Function

You can choose three different operational functions including dry mode, which you will use in conjunction with dry mode button discussed above.  You could also choose the laundry mode which will help to dry those damp clothes by running at full power and dropping the humidity to lower levels.  Finally, the air purification mode is ideal when you just need an air purifier.  Make sure you select this if you don’t need the dehumidifier running at the same time.

On/Off Button

This is where you’ll control the power of your machine.  While turned on, the machine will run at specified options unless the tank is full and it automatically shuts off.  If you notice the “full” light under the power button lit, that means that your tank has reached capacity or is in the wrong position.

Defrost Light

When your coils become too cold, the unit will light up to alert you that it is defrosting the coils to provide more effective functions.  This enables the unit to run in temperatures as long as they are above 5° Celsius.

Humidity Indicators

You will find three status indicators on your machine alerting you if the humidity is less than 50%, between 50-60% and greater than 60%.  This helps to ensure that you have the room at the desired humidity for your needs.
